Abstract:
Objective To describe sleep duration and associated problems among Chinese children and adolescents aged 6 -17 years old,and to provide basic information for intervention strategies.Methods Data came from 2010-2012 China National Nutrition and Health Surveillance.By using muhi-stage stratified cluster randomization sampling method,sleep data of 38 744 children and adolescents was analyzed.Age and sex standardization was performed based on the China 2009 population published by National Statistics Bureau.Results The average sleep duration of Chinese children and adolescents was 8.45 h/d,with no difference between urban and rural area (8.43 h and 8.48 h),or between boys and girls (8.47 h and 8.44 h).With the increase of age,the average daily sleep duration showed a decreasing trend.The percentage of insufficient sleep among children aged 6-17 years in 2010-2012 was 69.8%,and the rate of the children in urban area was slightly lower than that of rural areas(69.2% and 70.3%),no difference was found in gender(69.7% for boys,69.8% for girls).Rate of insufficient sleep was decreasing with age.Conclusion Chinese children and adolescents aged 6-17 years old were lack of sleep.More attention should be paid to build a supportive environment to ensure the sufficient sleep,promoting physical and mental health of children and adolescents in China.
Impacts of overweight and obesity on cardiac structure and function among children

Abstract:
Objective To evaluate the impact of childhood overweight and obesity on cardiac structure and function.Methods A total of 1 034 children (aged between 8-9 years old;520 females) from 5 primary schools in Beijing,dividing into normalweight,overweight and obese group according to the sex and BMI.All the subjects underwent ultrasonic cardiogram for a complete assessment of cardiac structure and function.Results Compared with the normal weight group,obese boy showed increased aortic root dimension (AOD),interventricular septal thickness (IVSd),left ventricular end-diastolic dimension (LVIDd),left ventricular posterior wall thickness (LVPWd),left ventricular end-diastolic volume (EDV),left ventricular mass (LVM),stroke volume (SV),cardiac output (CO),and left ventricular mass index (LVMI) by 6.7%,13.4%,7.6%,15.3%,19.7%,34.6%,18.3%,23.7%,8.8%(P<0.01),while obese girls showed increased AOD,IVSd,LVIDd,LVPWd,EDV,LVM,SV,CO by 4.9%,9.1%,9.1%,12.1%,22.7%,32.9%,22.5%,26.0%.The overweight children showed increased LVPWd,EDV,LVM,SV,CO (P<0.01) compare with normal weight children.No differences in ejection fraction (EF) and fractional shortening (FS) were found between obese/overweight groups with normal weight group.BMI was positively associated with AOD,IVSd,LVIDd,LVPWd,RWT,EDV,LVM,LVMI,HR,CO,SV (r=0.217,0.289,0.288,0.338,0.156,0.291,0.534,0.227,0.173,0.322,0.262,P<0.01) in males,while positive correlations were found between BMI and IVSd,LVIDd,LVPWd,EDV,LVM,LVMI,CO,SV in females (r=0.146,0.322,0.224,0.329,0.444,0.158,0.288,0.287,P<0.01).Conclusion Alterations of cardiac structure and function are significant in overweight and obese boys and girls aged 8-9 years old,including increased left ventricular diameter,wall thickness and left ventricular mass and cardiac dysfunction.

Abstract:
Objective To analyze the phenomenon of drinking among adolescents aged 15 to 17 years in China.Methods Data were from the Chinese Nutrition and Health Surveillance in 2010-2012.The study included 6 581 adolescents aged 15 to 17 across China.Prevalence,frequency and pattern of drinking,as well as daily alcohol consumption were collected and described.Results Drinking was found in 14% of adolescents aged 15 to 17 years,with 19.2% for males and 8.5% for females,and highest (18.0%) among 17-year-old group.Among those reported drinking,beer (85.1%) ranked as the most preferred,followed by wine (35.2%).Daily alcohol consumption was 4.9 g,with 5.6 g for males and 3.4 g for females,highest (4.9 g) among 17-year-old group.Drinking was more likely reported among adolescents from higher family income and those who were smokers.Conclusion The drinking problem among young people aged 15-17 years in China cannot be ignored.It is recommended that non-alcoholic intervention should be carried out as soon as possible for them.
Overweight, obesity and related risk factors among primary and middle school students of Han ethnicity in Sichuan Province

Abstract:
Objective To understand the prevalence of overweight and obesity and risk factors among primary and middle school students of Han ethnicity in Sichuan and to provide a scientific basis for obesity prevention.Methods A total of 7 200 students in primary and middle schools were selected by cluster random sampling method in three areas of varied economic level in Sichuan province.Height and weight were measured according to "National Student Physical Fitness and Health Survey" standard,body mass index (BMI) was calculated to evaluate overweight and obesity.Questionnaire surveys were conducted among students from grade four.Results The prevalence rate of overweight and obesity was 9.2% and 3.8%,decreasing with age.Male,urban areas,pupil,high household socioeconomic status,feeling tired at PE lessons were risk factors of overweight and obesity,with the odds ratio (95%CI) being 1.613(1.376-1.890),1.818(1.538-2.151),1.307(1.075-1.588),1.703(1.365-2.124),1.490(1.019 -2.179).Conclusion The prevalence of overweight and obesity among Han ethnicity students in Sichuan province is relatively low compared with national level,however,regional differences are distinct.Social economic level,feelings at PE lessons and so on are the risk factors of overweight and obesity.

Abstract:
Objective To understand the association between breakfast status and the learning efficiency of senior high school students,and to further develop their nutritional health education and provide scientific evidences for intervention.Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted among 1 138 senior high students in grades 1-3 who were selected by cluster sampling method in Anhui and Hebei Province.Results About 52.20% of senior high students had breakfast every day.The percentage of having breakfast among female students (59.14%) was higher than that among male students (44.98%),and there was significantly statistical difference between them (x2 =22.840,P<0.01).Only 5.27% breakfast for students included four kinds of food,namely cereal food,meat,milk and milk products,vegetables and fruit.Monthly income per capita in each family was a key factor influencing the quality of breakfast.Cereal category (73.64%) captured the highest percentage of breakfast.The time,place,standard of breakfast,eating enough for breakfast and others were all the protective factor of improving learning efficiency (P<0.01).Conclusion Low rates and poor quality of breakfast consumption are common among students in senior high school.Learning efficiency may be related to the quality of breakfast.We should strengthen the related nutritional health education in different channels,so as to establish a good eating habit and improve the learning efficiency.

Abstract:
Objective To investigate the nutritional status of vitamin D among children and adolescents in Yinchuan and Wuzhong city of Ningxia,and to provide a scientific reference for the prevention of Vitamin D insufficiency and deficiency among children and adolescents.Methods Stratified cluster samphng method was used to extract classes from the randomly-selected primary,middle and high schools of Yinchuan and Wuzhong city.The patients of rickets,Crohn's disease,cardiovascular disease,liver and kidney disease,and the children and adolescents with Vitamin D supplements history in the last 3 months were excluded.2 167 children and adolescents aged from 7 to 18 were selected as subjects.The fasting venous blood was collected and the concentration of serum 25(OH) D was determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results The serum 25 (OH) D concentration among 2 167 children and adolescents was 51.46nmol/L,the interquartile distance was 61.46 nmol/L,the sufficient,insufficient and deficient detection rates of vitamin D were 51.9%,14.1% and 34.0%,respectively.The detection rate of insufficiency was at the highest at 7 years old,and then showed an upward tendecny during 8-13 years old with increasing of age,while started to decrease gradually at the age of 14.The deficiency detection rates of children aged 7-18 years were 31.9%,27.9%,20.8%,30.1%,36.7%,42.4%,29.8%,32.3%,35.3%,47.5%,37.3% and 32.8%,respectively.The differences of Vitamin D levels and deficiency detection rates among different age groups were of statistical significance (H =43.086,P< 0.01,x2 =11.156,P =0.001).The differences between Hui and Han children were of no statistical significance for the level of Vitamin D and insufficient and deficiency detection rates.Conclusion The children and adolescents aged 7-18 years in Yinchuan and Wuzhong are found of high detection rate of vitamin D deficiency.With the increase of age,the levels of Vitamin D among children and adolescents decreased,the deficiency detection rate increased significantly.

Abstract:
Objective To analyze the dynamic change of nutritional status among Han students aged 7-18 in Urumqi over the last 30 years,and to provide basis for relevant nutrition intervention policy.Methods Data came from 6 consecutive surveys in Urumqi,which was part of Chinese National Surveillance on Student's Health and Physical Fitness from 1985 to 2014.Screening Standard for Malnutrition of School-age Children and Adolescents (2014) was used to assess growth retardation and stunting,while WGOC-BMI was used to screen overweight and obesity.Results Detection rate of stunting,growth retardation and malnutrition decreased greatly from 1985 to 2014,from 32.8%,26.1%,30.6%,and 24.0% in 1985 to 5.2%,8.2%,8.8%,and 9.7% in 2014 for urban boys and girls,rural boys and girls,respectively.The decrease was relatively greater in rural students than in urban students.The detection rate of overweight obesity and over-nutrition increased greatly from 0.7%,1.0%,0.8%,and 0.8% in 1985 to 42.2%,23.2%,31.2%,and 17.5% in 2014 for urban boys and girls,rural boys and girls,respectively.The increasement was higher in boys than in girls.Significant increase of over-nutrition was noticed among primary school students in urban area of Urumqi.Conclusion Nutritional status among students in Urumqi has been greatly improved during the last 3 decades,which is consistent with the national trend.The comorbid phenomenon in malnutrition and over-nutrition increase among rural areas should take further notice.Attention should also be paid on over-nutrition prevalence in urban areas.

Abstract:
Objective To study association between serum trans fatty acid(TFA) and superoxide dismutase(SOD) with dietary intake among college students,and to provide a basis for college students' rational dietary.Methods A total of 172 volunteers aged 18-25 were recruited.Food frequency questionnaire was used to investigate the frequency and the average intake of fruits,vegetables,milk class,meat and aquatic product,fast food,dessert,fried food in the past three months.Serum TFA,MDA and SOD were determined by extraction of venous blood on an empty stomach.Results More than 300 g fired food was consumed in male(19.4%),female(9.1%),Hui(18.9%) and Han(8.7%) students each week.The differences of serum TFA between male and female,as well as TFA and MDA between Hui and Han students were statistically significant(t =-2.81,-3.12,-2.81,P<0.01).According to the multiple regression analysis,serum TFA was related to consumption of fried and fast food,dessert and dairy products,and serum MDA was related to the intake of fried food and vegetables.Conclusion In order to decrease the health hazard of TFA and acrylamide,people should reduce the intake of fried and fast food,dessert and milky tea or cream,and eat more vegetables and its products.

Abstract:
Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the current status of ideal cardiovascular health behaviors among college students.Methods This cross-sectional study was conducted among 3 universities in Baoding.The current status of ideal health behaviors was analyzed,based on the definition of ideal health behaviors developed by the American Heart Association (AHA).Results Only 2.9% of college students met all 4 ideal health behaviors.The prevalence of "ideal" smoking,body mass index (BMI),exercise and diet was 84.1%,84.8%,11.3% and 32.0%,respectively.Higher proportion of ideal smoking status was found in female,medicine-major students and those from rural areas,or have taken health-related courses(x2=165.477,44.732,12.133,9.365,P<0.05).The proportion of ideal BMI was higher in female than male students(x2=24.824,P<0.05).Male college students and those with no CVD family history had higher proportion of ideal exercise(x2 =40.387,5.509,P<0.05).The proportion of ideal diet was higher in students who were non-medical students or have taken health-related courses (x2 =6.008,5.153,P<0.05).Conclusion The proportion of ideal exercise and diet in college students is relatively low.Cardiovascular health education should pay more attention to exercise and diet,and adapt specific strategies for college students with different characteristics.
Relationship of health literacy status with acquiring health knowledge through the mobile terminal among college students

Objective To understand health literacy status,influencing factors and health education demand based on the Mobile Terminal among college students,and provide a reference for implementing the health education for university students in the Mobile Internct health communication environment.Methods The status of health literacy and acquiring health knowledge through the Mobile Terminal of college students were conducted among 1 949 college students chosen using the multistage cluster sampling method.Results The proportions of high,marginal and low health literacy level were 31.3%,48.9% and 19.8%.There was significant difference in proportion of health literacy level between different gender groups,majors,grades,education categories of parents,whether to take health education courses or health related social practices (x2 =76.893,82.697,21.154,13.377,13.678,33.856,51.819,P<0.05).The higher the health literacy of the students,the higher the proportions of strong need for health knowledge and acquiring health knowledge through Mobile Terminal were found.The difference was statistically significant(P< 0.05).Conclusion The health literacy of students is at the marginal level.Students with high health literacy far more frequently acquire health knowledge through utilizing Mobile Terminal than those with marginal and low health literacy.Health education for college students being implemented on the new media platform through the Mobile Terminal is worth studying.
Effect of health education on substance abuse among adolescents in Macao, China

Abstract:
Objective To explore the effect of health education on substance abuse in adolescents of Macau and to provide basis for substance abuse prevention in China.Methods Based on the representative data collected by the Follow-up Survey of Adolescents in School and Drugs in 2010,effects of substance use prevention among Macao students were evaluated from anti-substance use propensity (resistance,awareness of health risk and refusing to peers with substance use),as well as substance use.Results Students rated higher of professional anti-drug social workers than these by publics and media in substance use prevention (t =32.02,2.95,P<0.01).Significantly improvement on anti-substance use propensity (β=0.06,0.11,0.03,P<0.01),and significant decrease in substance use were found (β=-0.17,-0.06,-0.09,P<0.01) after substance use prevention by social workers.Substance use prevention committed by publics and media was significantly related to substance use among students (β =0.01,0.03,P<0.01).Substance use propensity mediated the association of substance use prevention and substance use among students (P<0.01).Conclusion Substance use prevention,decreased anti-substance use propensity,and decreased substance using behaviors should all be considered when evaluating and implementing substance prevention,as well as the indirect effects.
Application of capture and recapture method to estimate the population size of men who have sex with men among college students in Hangzhou

Abstract:
Objective To determine current same-sex social software usage among college students in Hangzhou and to estimate the population size,as to provide evidence for HIV/AIDS prevention among male college students who have sex with men (MSM).Methods On 15th April 2017,the numbers of MSM among college students from universities located in advanced education zone were collected according to log records in same-sex social software,and the process was repeated after 7 days.The population size of MSM among college students in Hangzhou was recorded by the capture and recapture method.Results The population size of MSM was about 2 636 (95%CI:2 522-2 750),with average age (20.75±2.00) years old.Average weight and height was (63.58± 11.82) kg and (175.86±8.89) cm.Among the classification of sex roles,21.11% (400) played both the top and bottom role,21.39%(405) reported only the bottom role and 14.78%(280) played the top role.Conclusion Same-sex social software provides a new approach to estimate the population size of MSM by using the application of capture and recapture method.In the meanwhile,it provides a new carrier to start propaganda and education work on male homosexuality among young students in high school.It is worth considering to carry out more studies on roles of new media technology in HIV/AIDS program in the future.
Current situation of healthy lifestyle of rural left behind middle school students in Langfang

Abstract:
Objective To discuss the current situation and influencing factors of rural left behind middle school students'healthy life style,so as to create a healthy living environment for them.Methods By using the method of questionnaire and mathematical statistics,this paper studied the current situation of healthy lifestyle of 1 372(stay 600,non left-behind in the 772) middle school students in Langfang.Results The proportion of boys and girls in the "poor" grade was 24.45% and 25.16% respectively,and the number of non left-behind middle school students was about 20.15% and 22.63%,respectively;The proportion of boys and girls in the "excellent" level of left behind students were 10.54% and 9.80%,respectively,and the number of non left-behind middle school students was 13.77%and 11.80%.The 6 dimensions of left behind middle school students' healthy lifestyle were in the range of 2.77 to 3.46,and the non left-behind middle school students between the ages of 2.82 and 3.69 were in the lower middle level.The average score of 4 dimensions of health education for left behind middle school students is between 3.07 and 3.65.Non left-behind middle school students between 3.02 and 3.70,the overall satisfaction of school health education was higher.Family factors on rural students have a healthy lifestyle influence is deep or strong in monitoring,family income and education level of mother,corresponding to the partial regression coefficients were 0.397,0.263 and 0.203;school factors were health education activities,campus health culture and education system,corresponding to the partial regression coefficient was 0.448,0.364 and 0.306.Conclusion The health risk behaviors of rural left behind middle school students are mainly reflected in 4 dimensions:nutrition behavior,physical exercise,health responsibility and self-realization.The influence of family and school factors is obvious,and targeted interventions should be taken.
Influencing factors of suicide attitude among middle school students in Guizhou province based on structural equation model

Objective To understand the current situation of suicide attitude among middle school students in Guizhou province and possible influencing factors based on structural equation model.Methods By using multi-stage stratified random sampiing,5 109 middle school students from 3 districts in Guizhou were investigated with self-designed suicide attitude questionnaire and self-rating depression scale.Data was analyzed by factor analysis and structural equation models using SPSS 17.0 and Amos 23.0.Results Among the 5 109 middle school students in Guizhou,proportion of students who were supportive for attempted suicidal,committed suicide,family members of suicide victim and euthanasia was 3.8% (192),36.1 (1 845),68.0% (3 475) and 20.8%(1 063),respectively.Significant differences in attitude towards suicide were found in students with different characteristics,including religious belief,residence in school,the only children,left-behind child,urbanicity,grades and regions(P<0.05).The structural equation model showed that depressive and anxiety symptoms had the greatest impact on suicidal attitudes (total effect was 0.304),followed by parental rearing style(0.237),family atmosphere(0.202),social bullying (0.187) and life education(0.095).Conclusion This results clarify the need for improving attitudes towards suicide behavior among high school students in Guizhou province.Prevention of emotional problems and positive parenting style might help prevent suicide among high school students in consideration of strong correlation between emotional problems and parenting style with suicide attitude.
Attitude of parents of hearing-impaired children toward physical punishment and its influencing factors

Abstract:
Objective To understand the attitude of parents parents punishment toward physical punishment and explore the association among their attitude,the experience of childhood physical violence and physical violence against their children,and to provide a basis for the prevention of corporal punishment in hearing-impaired children.Methods A total of 170 hearing-impaired children's parents from 2 schools in Beijing were investigated by anonymous self-administered questionnaires to understand the attitude of corporal punishment.Results Among the parents,48.8% (83/170) had a correct attitude of corporal punishment,but there were no any significant associations between the attitude of corporal punishment and parents' gender,educational attainment,age,child's gender or age(P>0.05).The parents with experience of childhood physical violence victimization was a risk factor of taking a supportive or tolerant attitude towards corporal punishment(OR =2.36,P<0.05),and the attitude of corporal punishment was positively related to physical violence against their children(OR =2.34,P<0.05).Conclusion Parents of hearing-impaired children are found of low accuracy rate of their attiude toward physical punishment,and their attitude of corporal punishment is associated with the experience of childhood physical violence victimization and physical violence against their children.It is suggested that we should pay more attention to the child maltreatment prevention education in parents of hearing-impaired children.

Objective To investigate Internet addictive behaviors among middle school students in Henan province,in order to provide scientific basis for effective prevention and control measures.Methods Total of 30 260 students from middle schools and high schools in Henan province were selected by stratified cluster sampling method.Junior and senior middle school students were investigated with separate health related behavior for adolescent developed by Chinese Centre of Disease Control and Prevention.Results Report rate on video game addiction was 12.9%,with boys (16.8%) higher than girls(8.9%) (x2 =416.0,P<0.05).Nearly 3 691(12.2%) students reported Internct online more than 4 h/day,with boys (15.1%) higher than girls(9.3%) (x2 =240.0,P<0.05).Overall Internet addiction rate was 7.6%,with boys and girs was 10.7% and 4.6%,respectively(x2 =410.9,P<0.05).About 14.6% of students had ever engaged in amusement gamble.Academic performance,loneliness,academic pressure,anxiety and depression were risk factors for Internet addictive behavior of middle school students.Conclusion Internct addiction among middle school students in Henan province is within the average level.To prevent or decrease internct additive behaviors,more work should be done to alleviate academic pressure and promote mental well-being among adolescents in China

Abstract:
Objective To explore the relationships between self-esteem and hope with depression among migrant children.Methods A sample of 1 041 children (776 migrant children and 265 local children) were administered with questionnaire regarding self-esteem and hope.Depression was assessed by using the Beck's Depression Scale-Ⅱ.Results Prevalence of depression among migrant adolescents was 24.74%(192/776),with girls significantly higher than boy's(t =-2.86,P<0.01).Depression were found more common among those who have been migrant children less than 1 years compared to those who have been migrant children for more than 3 years.Depression negatively correlated with self-esteem and hope.Self-esteem positively correlated with hope.Hope mediated the association between self-esteem and depression(x2/df=4.22,CFI=0.90,TLI=0.90,RMSEA=0.04,SRMR=0.05,AIC=30 268.45,BIC=30 402.64).Conclusion Self-esteem could not only impact depression directly,but also indirectly via hope.

Abstract:
Objective To understand the development of mental health status among college students with psychological problems.Methods All the 6 103 college freshmen from a comprehensive university were investigated with Chinese College Student Mental Health Scale.A total of 764 students who had higher mental health symptoms were followed up for 4 years.Developmental trajectory of mental health was analyzed in growth mixed model.Results During the 4-year follow-up,mental health scale scores decreased.Three classes of trajectories in mental health development among those 764 college were identified,namely gradually decreasing group(95.16%),decreasing after increasing group (1.70%) and rapid decreasing group(3.14%).Conclusion The overall mental health among college students with baseline mental health symptoms shows improvement during the 4 year follow-up,three developmental trajectories are identified according to the decreasing characteristics.

Objective To establish the normal values and curves of the velocity of children and adolescents in Shanghai,and to provide a scientific basis for the evaluation of the physical development of children and adolescents.Methods A total of 15 422 students aged 7-18 selected from Huangpu,Xuhui,Zhabei,Minghang,Fengxian,Pudong district in Shanghai in 2014 were investigated about their physical quality and health.And LMS method (Tim Cole) was applied to establish the percentile value of 50 meters.Results Sex age specific percentiles of P3,P5,P10,P15,P25,P50,P75,Ps5,Pg0,P95,P97 and curve of velocity were recorded.The students in primary and middle schools in Shanghai in 2014 have got increasingly great results with the increase of their age,and the boys were better than girls,and the students in Shanghai achieved higher than the national level.Conclusion The percentile narmal and curves provide a visual assessment for school-age children's velocity.

Objective To investigate the mediational effect of social support and resilience in the relation between gratitude and post-traumatic growth among middle school students three years after Lushan earthquake reconstruction.Methods A total of 1 136 middle school students were investigated with Gratitude Questionnaire,Social Support Rating Scale,Post-Traumatic Growth Inventory and Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale.Results Among students in earthquake affected areas,gratitude and resilience scores were higher in females (4.51±0.61 and 4.41±0.65 for gratitude;3.54±0.31 and 3.46±0.27 for resilience) and junior high school students (4.53±0.59 and 4.39±0.62 for gratitude;3.52±0.29 and 3.48±0.25 for resilience) (P<0.05).Gratitude,social support,resilience and post-traumatic growth scores were higher in students from heavily affected areas,and those with severe loss of property or no relatives killed or injured,compared with those from mildly affected area [(4.56±0.62 and 4.36±0.63),(3.64±0.51 and 3.38±0.60),(3.63±0.33 and 3.37±0.27),(3.27±0.53 and 3.03±0.61)],and with moderate loss of property[(4.56±0.62 and 4.36±0.63),(3.64±0.51 and 3.38±0.60),(3.63±0.33 and 3.37±0.27),(3.27±0.53 and 3.03±0.61)] or having relatives killed or injured[(4.59±0.6 and 4.33±0.64),(3.83±0.60 and 3.19±0.76),(3.67±0.35 and 3.33±0.27),(3.29±0.52 and 3.01±0.60)] (P<0.05).Correlation analysis showed that gratitude,social support and resilience were positively correlated with post-traumatic growth(r=0.53,0.35,0.48,P<0.05).Multiple regression analysis showed that gratitude not only had direct effect on post-traumatic growth,but also indirectly influenced post-traumatic growth.Significant partial mediation of social support and resilience on the association between gratitude and post-traumatic growth were revealed.Conclusion Gratitude had direct effect on post-traumatic growth among middle school students 3 years after Lushan earthquake reconstruction.Significant partial mediation of social support and resilience on the association between gratitude and post-traumatic growth are revealed.

Objective To analyze dynamic changes in speed and endurance among Urumqi Han students during 1985-2014.Methods Data came from National Survey of Student Health and Physical Fitness in Urumqi during 1985-2014.Indices of speed and endurance among primary and secondary school students aged 7-18 years were analyzed.Results During the past 30 years,50 m dash performance has decreased significantly from 1985 to 1995 years,most obvious among boys with 0.1 s reduction (P<0.05);The same trend was observed in endurance indices,urban students still had higher endurance performance despite of significant reduction during 1985-2014 compared to rural students.Endurance running performance among students aged 10-12 years showed a consistent downward trend among both boys and girls,most notable among boys with 42.03 s reduction;For students aged 13-18 years,the same decreasing trend in urban and rural areas was noticed,however,the reduction has ceased during 2005 -2010,but continued falling in 2010-2014 among urban students.Conclusion Speed and endurance performance among Urumqi students has decreased during the past 30 years,most notable in rural areas and boys.There is a great need for further investigation on causes of the decline in endurance performance and developing corresponding effective intervention for Urumqi students.

Abstract:
Objective To estimate the prevalence and associated factors of violence among middle school students in Ningbo city.Methods A total of 10 787 students from 70 middle schools were recruited through multi-stage random sampling.All data were collected by self-reported questionnaire regarding demographic information,self-directed violence,physical violence and cyberbully,which was modified from the Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System in USA.Results In the last 12 months before the survey,20.20% students reported violent behaviors.Specifically,12.88% students had been in a physical fight at least one time,and 68.83% of which happened on school property.About 2.40% and 5.36% students had been bullied on school property and cyberbullied respectively.And 5.42% of all students reported self-directed violence and 30.09% of which needed treatment in hospital.Results of multivariate logistic regression indicated that male(OR=5.51,3.32,1.72),urban(OR=1.23,1.48,1.35),the abnormal marital status among their parents (OR =2.04,1.50 and 1.84) could increase the risk,while higher grade (OR =0.78,0.88),living with their parents (OR=0.81,0.63,0.61) and myopia (OR=0.71) could reduce the risk of physical fighting,selfdirected voilence,and cyberbully.Conclusion Adolescent violence is a common concern.Males,students in lower grade and those with separated parents in middle schools are especially vulnerable to bullying.Prevent and address bullying behavior should be embedded within a comprehensive bullying prevention strategy.

Objective To explore epidemical characteristics of injuries among primary and secondary school students in Guangzhou,and to provide reference for the development of injury prevention and controlling strategies.Methods We established the school injury monitoring system for primary and secondary school students in Guangzhou and analyzed the data collected from Information System for Injury Surveillance of Primary Secondary School Students in Guangzhou from 2012 to 2015.Results The injuries were mainly happened on campus (74.2%),higher than the incidence happened outside the campus (25.8%).Injuries were mainly unintentional self-injury (on campus 69.7%,outside the campus 74.5%) or unintentional injury due to someone else (on campus 27.4%,outside the campus 23.8%) inside and outside the campus.Injuries in campus were mild (60.3%),while injuries outside campus were moderate(52.0%).The causes of injuries in the campus were fall,sprain,collision/crush,cut/stab,and the constituent ratios were 38.2%,25.9%,22.7% and 9.7% respectively.And outside the campus were fall,sprains,traffic accidents,collision/crush,cut/stab,and the constituent ratios were 46.1%,13.9%,13.7%,11.7% and 5.5% respectively;The primary school students' injuries on and outside the campus occurred mainly during the playing (43.9% and 49.7%),student'injuries in junior high school,high school and vocational middle school on campus occurred mainly in sports activities (52.2%,67.4%,63.1%),Injuries outside the school are mainly cycling/riding (46.5%,29.4%,51.2%) and walking(18.6%,23.4%,19.5%).Conclusion It is important to prevent falls,sprains,collisions / crush for primary school students during playing on campus and outside the campus.Sports injury,should be mainly prevented on campus in the middle school stage,while the fall,sprain,traffic accident,and collision/crush should be prevented outside the campus.
Association between breakfast frequency and positive psychological capital among nursing students

Objective To study the relationship between the frequency of breakfast and positive psychological capital among nursing students,and to provide a scientific basis for mental health promotion among nursing students.Meehods A total of 2 854 nursing students were selected by convenience sampling from 15 schools in Sichuan,Yunnan,Guangdong,Jiangsu,Jilin,Hubei Province.General questionnaire and Positive Psycap Questionnaire(PPQ) scale were used to collect data.Results There were 60.93%,20.95%,11.63%,5.40% and 1.09% of the nursing students who had breakfast 7 times,5-6 times,3-4 times,1-2 times and 0 time per week respectively,and the scores of positive psychological capital were (4.88±0.79),(4.64±0.71),(4.57± 0.75),(4.36±0.73) and (4.21±0.69),respectively.The scores of positive psychological capital among the nursing students who had breakfast every day were higher than the ones who had breakfast 5-6 times,3-4 times,1-2 times and 0 time per week,the differences were of statistical significance(F=34.835,P<0.05).The frequency of breakfast had made a significant predictable effect on positive psychological capital among nursing students.The frequency of having breakfast was improved by a unit,and positive psychological capital score was increased by 8%.Conclusion The proportion of nursing students who have breakfast every day is low.Having breakfast every day has a significant influence on positive psychological capital.

Objective To analyze possible risk factors for burn injury among elementary school students in suburban Fuyang city.Methods By using stratified random cluster sampling method,a total of 1 223 students from 2 primary schools in suburb Fuyang city were selected.Results Among the 1 223 pupils with eligible data,126(10.3%) had ever been burned,including 90 boys and 36 girls,with boys higher than that of girls (14.2% and 6.1%,P<0.05).Burning injury decreased with age,with the lower grade students 15.3% and the higher grade students 4.8%.Among all kinds of bum injury,the proportion of hot water bums was the highest (69.8%).Students with parents being rural migrant workers and with low education level had higher bum injury rates,8.3% and 6.9%,respectively.Multivariate analysis showed that gender,grade,parental occupation and education background was significant risk factors for bum injury among primary students.Conclusion Bum injury among primary school students remains high in suburb Fuyang city,which in turn provide hints for the further exploration of possible risk factors that are important in planning strategies for future prevention in family,community and school settings.

Objective To explore the relationship between childhood abuse and adult security and the moderating effect of left-behind childhood,and to provide a reference for improving mental health of the college students.Methods A total of 1 151 freshmen were selected from University of Hunan Chinese Medicine by Convenience sampling method,and Childhood Trauma Questionnaire-Short Form (CTQ-SF) and Security Questionnaire (SQ) were used to measure students' psychological and behavioral characteristics.Results Compared to the non-trauma group,the early childhood trauma group had lower scores in sense of interpersonal security and the sense of control,and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Interpersonal security was negatively related to emotional abuse,physical abuse,sexual abuse,emotional neglect,and physical neglect (r =-0.295,-0.127,-0.132,-0.252,-0.196,P<0.05),the sense of control was negatively related to emotional abuse,physical abuse,sexual abuse,emotional neglect,and physical neglect (r =-0.311,-0.138,-0.115,-0.205,-0.125,P< 0.05).Emotional abuse and emotional neglect were predictive of interpersonal safety score (β =-0.227,-0.147,P< 0.05) and the sense of control score (β =-0.274,-0.076,P<0.05).The structural equation showed that left-behind childhood played a moderating role between childhood abuse and adult security (P =0.004).Conclusion Emotional abuse and emotional neglect have a negative predictive effect on the sense of security,and left-behind childhood plays a moderating role between child abuse and adult security.

Objective To explore the effects of resistance training on body composition,blood lipids and serum leptin in obese children.Methods Eighteen obese children (9 girls and 9 boys) were given 3 days per week resistance training for 8 weeks.Body composition (body weight,body mass index,muscle mass and trunk muscle mass,body fat mass and body fat percentage),blood lipids (total cholesterol,TC;triacylglycerol,TG;low density lipoproterin,LDL;high-de-nsity lipoprotein,HDL) and serum leptin level were tested before and after the resistance training intervention.Results After 8-week resistance training intervention,serum leptin,TG and LDL levels significantly decreased(P<0.01 for leptin,P<0.05 for TG and LDL),HDL level increased (P< 0.01) in obese children;Body weight,BMI,body fat mass,upper limb (left and right) and trunk fat mass significantly decreased (P<0.01,P<0.05),muscle mass and trunk muscle mass significantly increased (P<0.05) in obese boys;BMI,body fat mass,upper,lower limb (right) and trunk fat mass significantly decreased (P<0.01,P<0.05),muscle mass and trunk muscle mass significantly increased among obese girls (P<0.01).Conclusion Eight-week resistance training has significantly reduced BMI,body fat mass and serum leptin level,increased muscle mass in obese children.The reduction in fat mass and increases in blood lipid might relate to reduction of serum leptin due to resistance training in obese children.

Objective To determine visual acuity and refractive state among preschool children in Haikou,as to provide basic information for eyesight care and guidance.Methods From June 2015 to October 2016,visual acuity and refractive status of 3 654 preschool children aged 3 to 6 from randomly selected 20 kindergartens in Haikou were assessed using visual acuity chart(<4 years old),or logarithmic visual acuity chart and 5-point record (≥ 4 years old).Refractive status was evaluated by using Welch Allyn's Suresight vision screening instrument (United States).Positive screening children were informed to visit ophthalmologic clinic for further examination.Results The detection rate of abnormal vision among preschool children in Haikou was 16.58%,significant decreasing with age (x2 =29.75,P<0.05).A total of 146 (4.3%) children diagnosed with amblyopia.Simple hyperopia and mixed hyperopic with astigmatism were the most common type of abnormal vision among children in Haikou,which both showed decreasing trend with age.Conclusion Abnormal vision is common among preschool children in Haikou,which needs more attention on early detection,prevention and intervention.
